There were many complaints that the font-size on pages was huge. In order to address this, the font-size property has been reduced from 1.5 to 1.25 universally.
Furthermore, the font-size in lists has been adjusted accordingly, so as to look similar to the paragraph text.
After experimenting with Apache’s Caching directives, the site performance has seen a marginal boost (from 39 to 51).
Still a long way to go, but progress nonetheless.
One major factor is importing stylesheets from Google’s Font server. What can be done is to serve these assets from our own server (and thus be in control of cache).
The stotra module has been completely re-designed from scratch and enhances the functionality and useability of the existing stotra content on the website.
For nearly 3 weeks, work has been on-going on the Anugraha Bhashanam(s)’ module. As of this writing, almost all of the work has been completed and a sizeable portion of the content has been incorporated.
For the past week or so, there has been ongoing work on server fine-tuning with regards to performance and a few other metrics like seo etc.
Today, GIT-LFS was installed on the server (in the user bin) and the theme repository was re-cloned to get the lfs extension working properly. Henceforth, there should be no problem syncing the repo with binary objects added, removed or modified.
